Not sure when or how, but the freeways in Utah in the city just got bumped from 65 mph speed limit to 70.
Didn't see anything on the news about it, but I noticed new signs yesterday. To celebrate enjoy a 1970 Toyota FJ55....a car that, wouldn't really do 70.

That thing has all of my wants. Indicators on a stick, badass leafsprings, a two tone 'job and a couple of bumper tusks for good measure. I can haz yes?

That FJ is awesome. While not being able to do 70, it can probably go almost anywhere on earth that isn't paved. A fair tradeoff in my estimation.

lol I was going to say, that cant do 70! my 82 BJ60 could though amazingly. Anyhow, in Maine it was the same way, overnight

Hooray for speed! Though to be honest, I was a tiny bit sad because I was enjoying going 65 when I had no place to be in a hurry, saved money and really quieted down the cruiser. Oh, well, 70 is good too.

Its got the hotness, thats for sure. I adore the look of the 55, and am a total sucker for two tone cream/green.

I saw a story or two about it, I think the change was just a week or so ago. They're also enforcing it a lot more for a few weeks. This isn't just talk from UHP, I was pulled over on my way to work Tuesday.

You know sonny, in my day we didn't have roofs on our cars. We used to drive to school barefoot with no roof in the freezing rain. And we liked it that way.
Or something.

I noticed a major fuzz uptick. I don't watch/read the news. What did they get you for?

10 over. No ticket, though. He did let me know that if I kept doing it this week, I would get pulled over again.

what I read on this speed increase is it is preferable to keep the speed limit at 85% of the drivers on the road. Supposedly a study was performed on the safety of such an increase and the results were good.
There's nothing that says you can't drive 65

Well I have been all week and it hasn't been a problem. Its certainly been less scary than pulling the trailer at 70 on I15 south.
